God of War developer is hiring for an unannounced title
Sony Santa Monica, developer of the God of War series, is hiring for a new, unannounced project. We know the studio is also working on God of War: Ragnarok, the next iteration in the series about god killer Kratos, but there is very little yet known about this upcoming title.
Santa Monica Studio posted a call for an art director that can “inspire [their] team to deliver best-in-class visual quality” on Twitter. It is unlikely that the job listing is for God of War: Ragnarok, because that game is still slated for a release in 2021 and can hardly be considered a new project. Which leads to the assumption that it concerns a brand new, yet unannounced project.

Following a line of rumours, this unknown Santa Monica title could be a brand new IP for Sony, maybe a sci-fi game developed in collaboration with the writer of Battlestar Galactica. This project reportedly fell through before the development of God of War, which was called “a dream that died” in a documentary called Raising Kratos, chronicling the development of Kratos’ latest adventure.
Santa Monica Studio has been releasing God of War games since the original in 2005, a franchise that has been a steady source of income for Sony PlayStation. With their very successful reboot of the series, which was launched in 2018, Santa Monica Studio should have definitely garnered enough good will to start work on an alternative intellectual property.
